29 July 2013

It's the end of July and I am working hard to get two apartments finished in Brussels. And so I have been a bit slow in updating my website on builders' progress. One flat is almost ready: we are talking hanging paintings and curtains. The other one is slower in the making... Here is an update: floor is in, tiles are going up; tomorrow, hopefully, the wardrobe.

I presented this flat a few months ago. It was an interesting process getting to a good colour and materials concept. Click on www.rutgerhopster.com and scroll down until you see the colourful abstract wallpaper. (Next month my website will be updated with a more easily accessible list of projects.)

This is the bathroom. Tiling almost finished. We are now working on the lighting.
Tiles and floor change everything. It's the backbone of the look of a place. The wow-factor is definitely going to be the spectacular wallpaper in all three rooms. Updates will soon be posted!
As the joiner disappeared off the face of the earth (with table that still has to be retrieved), the builder offered to help out. He will do the joinery. He couldn't help with the curtain rail though: it was ordered six weeks ago, hoisted up through the window (it was too long to get in the flat through the staircase), only to discover that it was the wrong one...

This is the abstract photo wallpaper for the sitting room and bedroom. Complemented with sky blue blinds in the sitting room and dusted pink curtains in the bedroom.

More tiles (the same everywhere), in a simple brick pattern. This is the look of the new loo.
