Design ideas from Paris; from the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and the Hôtel Camondo. My camera has become a notebook for ideas mixed in with the more obvious touristy stuff.

Both museums are well worth a visit, in between Eiffel Tower and Tuileries gardens; and especially with dreary February weather.

So here are a few camera notebook ideas: curtain drapes made of strips of fabric (very nice strips with tassels, of course). I should maybe try this as a contemporary take on traditional window dressing.
Give your old furniture a modern display twist: just stack them up. At a stretch you could still use the storage space. Nice idea!
Tile patterns; not used a lot anymore but very effective. The small tub next to the big bath is a foot bath.
Curtain against a wall, with regularly spaced simple folds.
Being in Paris, it has to be Pierre de France, beautiful distressed look.

If you want to know more about Hôtel Camondo, visit this American bloggist' site; he is running a three week feature on it: www.architectdesign.com.
