A solid 1930s townhouse for a family of four. The roof leaked and the electricity was out-of-date. The look had to be restrained and the furniture fit for a nomadic life-style. We had long discussions about the floors. In the end we went for cement tiles in the entrance and kitchen.

In the reception rooms we stained the old pine to make it less piney, and upstairs we stained them mahogany to go with the stairs. We added period Swedish wallpaper by Boras Tapeter and modern wainscotting thanks to Ikea.
Bookcase made to measure. Sofa from BoConcept. Colour scheme, black, wood, taupe and grey-blue by Levis. Splashes of bright colour, the kitchen worktop and some furniture still to be added. The general white colour took a while to get right. It involved wrong samples and midnight meetings.

Verdict of the clients 'feels as if we have lived here a long time'.
