This 1950s house had three apartments. I had been built on an older house, parts of which are still visible, like the staircase. Lay-out after works: ground floor entrance and utility rooms, first floor living area, second floor master suite, third and fourth floors bedrooms.

Key for me was to change the staircase 'experience'. One should want to go up the stairs. It was a dark and dingy passage. In the design process I proposed to open it up.  It is now the visual backbone of the house, with large glass bays. An inviting step up.

All floors in solid ash. Window frames wood.
